Biography
Marci is a singer, songwriter, from the South Bay area of California whose gentle songs and poetic lyrics reflect life's journey, a journey that is sometimes bittersweet, oftentimes enchanting, and always mysterious. With soft vocals, rich in emotion and dramatic clarity, she weaves moments in time that are vulnerable, soul searching and and transitional. It is a journey we all take as we strive to free ourselves of expectations and move toward our own interpretation of self.
The daughter of a musical director, Marci was introduced to many types of music at an early age. When her father founded a small theatre, she headed for the stage and spent wonderful years dancing, singing and portraying characters in front of live audiences. She would eventually head out for larger stages, taking on more dramatic roles, and becoming involved in choreography and directing.
It was during a quieter, reflective time in her life that she began journal writing, and here, strangely, encountered her muse. This lead to a desire to play the harp, sending her off in new directions.
Since that time, she has performed on different stages as part of Folk harp ensembles,
The duo, "Muse" and as a soloist. A member of Lynne Reardon's electric harp band, The Lumina Trio, she contributed to her album "Lumina's Heart". Enjoying the traditional music of her Scotch-Irish ancestry, she has performed at Celtic and Renaissance fairs and Medieval banquets, and in more modern venues, gentle pop and modern folk for coffee houses, arts festivals, benefits, conferences and concerts. During her musical adventures, she began songwriting and recording.
